It looks like North American Jungler Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett’s time with Counter Logic Gaming has come to a close.
Team Liquid announced via twitter that Dardoch was once again donning the white and blue, returning to the organization he began his career on in 2016.
While this move may give better context to Team Liquid’s bizarre signing of Son “Mickey” Young-min from a roster building perspective – AD Carry Chae “Piglet” Gwang-jin and Jungler Kim “Reignover” Yeu-jin were taking up the two import spots – the move still comes as a surprise. It was only three weeks ago that Dardoch took Team Liquid to the cleaners on stream, and CLG’s announcement regarding Dardoch’s departure cited an unwillingness to align with team culture.
CLG’s announcement also stated that rookie substitute Jungler Omar “Omargod” Amin would step into Dardoch’s shoes as the starting Jungler.
Omar has a really strong learning curve and his ceiling seems to be very high based on his mindset,” said CLG Head Coach Tony “Zikz” Gray. “He has dedicated himself not only in-game but out of game to find ways to improve. He works to make sure every game is better than the last. We know we only have four weeks until playoffs start, but we are very confident that in those four weeks Omar will become one of the best junglers in North America.”
In 36 games with CLG, Dardoch posted a 63% win rate, with 64.3% kill participation and a 3.2 KDA (stats courtesy of oracleselixir.com). Through four games with CLG, Omargod is 2-2 with 69% kill participation and a 4.o KDA (stats courtesy of lolesports.com)
